China’s log imports from Russia increased by 13% year-on-year

According to data from the Russian Forestry Information official website, more than 85% of the timber exported by the Russian Federation in the first quarter of 2024 was supplied to China. Russia currently exports round logs to eight countries. In the first quarter of this year, the export volume of unprocessed wood was 673,000 cubic meters, an increase of 14.6% over last year. At the same time, exports to China were 575,600 cubic meters, accounting for 85.5% of the total. Unprocessed wood exports to China increased by 13.3% compared with the same period in 2023.
