A.Precautions before using

1.If facing any doubt, please consult our technical staff to ensure that the correct procedures are followed.

2.Please do not operate the dryer under thunder weather, do turn off the system and disconnect the main power.

3.Lightning strike is a natural disaster and the damage to the components are not covered by warranty.

B.Precautions in operation and maintenance

1.All motors of mainframe systems have to be avoided heavy-load startup.

2.When the hydraulic system starts, please try to avoid heavy-load startup, so as not to cause the damage to the accessories of hydraulic system and other failures.

3.After the sensor is replaced, the scale must be calibrated.

4.The maintenance door needs to be opened when cleaning and maintaining.

5.Matters need attention when maintenance to be done:

Disconnect the main switches and circuit breakers of corresponding overhaul motor, lock cabinet doors and hang warning signs.

Press the emergency stop button on the console and remove the key (if there is a key)

Warning: safety precautions

1.Check whether all switches on the electrical console are in normal position.

2.Check that the belt and chain drive modules are normal.

3.Check all the stroke switches & proximity switches for all devices to see if they are normal.

4.Check whether the lubricating grease of the operating parts is adequate.

5.Check whether all the connecting bolts of each connection part are fastened.

6.Check whether there’s any surplus materials and other sundries inside the equipment.

7.Before operation, check whether the switch in the strong cabinet is closed.

8.Turn on the power knob of the console and the power indicator should be on.

9.Check that the temperature and humidity sensor indications are normal.

Warning: No-load trial run

1.Firstly close the main power switch and control power switch, open the door lock, open the three-phase control switch, and then press the start button one by one to check that the corresponding contractor is sucking correctly.

2.Close the three-phase control switch, start the motor step by step according to the production process, check whether the motor steering is correct.

C.Equipment emergency stop

1.The stop button of each site operation cabinet can only stop the equipment in its controlled area for emergency stop.

2.All equipment are in emergency stop state after pressing the emergency stop button in the main control cabinet, but please close the hot air fan and cold air fan manually before release.

D.Matters needing attention in use

1.The dryers must be controlled by professional person and installed on the horizontal plant foundation. The horizontal error should be controlled within the positive and negative 3mm. If the foundation is found to be sinking & uplift in the process of use, machine should be stopped in time to check and test the level. Avoid damage to the drive part of the machine.

2.When the dryer is operated, firstly should start the hot air fan to reach the drying temperature, and then start the speed regulation motor (note: the motor speed should increase slowly) to do the drying operation.

3.The veneer should enter feed inlet vertically, and the inlet material should be straightened, so that the veneer and the transmission roll should be connected with each other at 90 °。

4.Control the veneer moisture content strictly after drying. Users can adjust the speed of adjustable speed motor themselves according to their moisture content requirements. The internal temperature of the veneer dryer should generally be between 140C and 180C for veneer thickness of 0.8-8mm, and the rotation speed should be controlled at 800rpm/min.The usual moisture content is 8 ~ 10 % after drying.

(The above data is for reference only, users can adjust according to their own production needs)

E.Maintenance

1.The fan of dryer is high speed, fan bearing should be injected once a month with lubricating oil and high temperature resistant yellow dry oil is needed (Gaida 300 ℃).

2.Driven chain should be dripped high temperature resistant oil every 3 to 4 days.

3.The upper and lower driven rollers should be cleared the dust once a week to avoid thicker dust accumulation, jam, and deviation phenomenon.

4.The main drive reducer should be checked for the oil every 2 months, if found the oil is spoiled or lack, then it shall be replaced or replenished in time.

5. Remove the ash and dust from the heat exchanger and make records regularly, which enable the dryer to operate at a high rate of production and prevent the damage of heat exchanger.

F.Common faults and troubleshooting

1.When starting fan, if the fan appears abnormal noise, then should stop and inspect immediately, generally because of bearing damage, replace bearings will be okay.

2.When the dryer heats up slow, check if the tidal door is closed. if it is not closed, closed it and then the temperature heat up will be quick. And open it when operating.

3.When the draught tube dripping water, mostly due to the drying temperature is not reaching the drying requirements, will be eliminated if the drying temperature is reached.

4.The dryer is congested mostly for improper operation or too much dust in the machine, which affects the normal work of the drive roller, and can also be caused by the foundation settlement, which can be solved by the user according to the different conditions.

5.The veneer should enter feed inlet vertically, and the inlet material should be straightened, so that the veneer and the transmission roll should be connected with each other at 90 °, and the veneer should be sheared before drying so as to avoid jam.

G.Cleaning Process

For the cleaning requirements of a veneer dryer equipped with a biomass burner heat source, the process should be approached systematically, considering the equipment structure, heat source characteristics, and safety regulations. The following is the professional cleaning procedure and recommendations:

1.Shutdown Cooling and Safety Preparations

Power/Fuel Shutdown: Turn off the dryer power and biomass burner feeding system to ensure the equipment is completely shut down and cools to room temperature.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear dust masks (N95 or above), high-temperature resistant gloves, safety goggles, and non-slip shoes to prevent exposure to wood dust and burns from high temperatures.

2.Manual Scraping:

Use wooden or plastic scrapers (to avoid damaging the equipment's interior with metal tools) to remove veneer debris (and any accumulated dust) from the dryer’s supports, layer by layer. Focus on cleaning areas where debris tends to accumulate, such as gaps and seams.

3. Pneumatic Blowing:

Use compressed air at 0.6-0.8 MPa to blow from the top to the bottom, layer by layer, and use an industrial vacuum cleaner to collect airborne dust. After blowing the transmission components (such as chains and bearings), apply high-temperature grease.

4. Conveyor System Maintenance

After cleaning, run the system unloaded for 5-10 minutes to confirm that there are no blockages or abnormal noises.

5.Flue System Deep Cleaning  (Once a week)

5.1. Heat Exchanger Channel Maintenance: The heat exchanger has a dust-reduction function; to avoid impairing its performance, it should be cleaned regularly.

5.2. Main Flue: Open the inspection doors of each section of the flue and use a rotating ash cleaning tool with a universal joint (rotational speed ≤ 60 rpm) to clean the inner walls.

· Pay special attention to elbow sections and corners where debris may accumulate.

6. Safety Operating Standards

6.1.Before cleaning, ensure the flue temperature is below 50°C to prevent ignition of wood dust due to residual heat.

6.2.Use explosion-proof lighting and copper tools to avoid sparks.
